Proposal for a renovation in Charlotte, North Carolina

Plaza Midwood Bungalow

Built in 1919 on a tree-lined street in Charlotte’s historic Plaza Midwood neighborhood, this single-story home is reconfigured to improve the sequence of public spaces while preserving its original entry, fireplace, and street-facing windows.

A modest rear extension expands the kitchen and living areas and introduces a second bathroom. The home’s original sequence of framed openings is reinterpreted through stone-framed millwork that defines spaces while integrating storage and utility functions.
